HOw to Apply: Online Master's Degrees
Degree-Seeking Students, otherwise known as RGOs or Registered Graduate Option
If you want to earn a Georgia Tech degree or are a transient student from another school, you must apply and be admitted to Georgia Tech.
Graduate Admission Criteria
- Evidence of a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent (prior to matriculation) from a recognized institution
- Graduation in the upper half of your class
- Evidence of preparation in your chosen field sufficient to ensure profitable graduate study
- Satisfactory scores on the GRE
- Satisfactory scores on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) for international applicants
From eligible candidates, departments may make final admission decisions based on a combination of factors, including
- Academic degrees and records
- Statement of purpose
- Letters of recommendation
- Test scores
- Relevant work experience
Also considered are
- the appropriateness of the applicant’s goals to the degree program in which they are interested and to the research interests of the program's faculty
- how the applicant’s background and life experience would contribute significantly to an educationally beneficial mix of students

Professional Development Options, otherwise known as PDO & PDO/G
Professional development students take Distance Learning classes but do NOT receive academic credit toward a degree under the PDO & PDO/G option. You are required to meet deadlines for assignments and tests.
This option is for nondegree students who qualify for reimbursement based on grades.
