If you are eligible and intend to graduate in the next two semesters, the following information must be read and completed.
Distance Learning students graduate the semester AFTER you take your last class because of the delay for homework assignments and exams.
For example, if you complete your last class during the summer semester, you will graduate in December. You must complete the waiver form, which informs the Degree Certification office that you will be graduating during a term in which you are not enrolled.
Degree petitions are due to Distance Learning for processing and signatures two weeks prior to the Institute’s deadline.
In addition, check with your major department for deadlines or requirements it may have.

Exception:
If you are an ECE candidate, you must obtain the first two forms from the Electrical and Computing Engineering graduate office.

You obtain the waiver form from Distance Learning.
How To Obtain Letter Of Completion Diploma Information
You can obtain a letter from the Registrar's office at comments@registrar.gatech.edu. Provide your name, GTID# and the reason for the e-mail. Put in the Subject line: Distance Learning Student - Letter of Completion.
You will receive your diploma six weeks after graduation on campus. Make sure that you update your OSCAR account with your diploma mailing address. This is different than your DL mailing and shipping address and your permanent mailing address.
If you do not provide a diploma mailing address, you will not receive your diploma. For more information on commencement, diploma info, go to http://www.gatech.edu/commencement/.
