1. How can I become an OSHA trainer?
You must have five years of relevant experience in either general industry or construction industry and complete OTI 511 General Industry or OTI 510 Construction Industry

Your trainer card expires four years after its issue date. You have a three-month grace period at the end of this time to renew your card before it expires.

3. Is a Code of Federal Regulations manual (CFR) required for my class?
CFR’s 1910 and 1926 are used as reference manuals for these courses:
- OTI 521—OSHA Guide to Industrial Hygiene
- OTI 500—Trainer Course in Occupational Safety and Health Standards for the Construction Industry
- OTI 510—Occupational Safety and Health Standards for the Construction Industry
- OTI 511—Occupational Safety and Health Standards for General Construction Industry
- OTI 502—Update for Construction Industry Outreach Trainers
- OTI 503—Update for General Industry Outreach Trainers
If you have a CFR, bring it to class. If you need to purchase one, do so when you register for the course. The cost is $30.
If we have extra CFRs on first day of the class, you may purchase one by cash, check, or credit card. You may not add the cost of a CFR to an existing Purchase Order.
4. Do you offer asbestos or lead-based paint training?
We do not offer public asbestos training or lead-based paint training classes. However, we can work with you to conduct on-site training at your facility.
5. How do I register for an OSHA free course?
You may register at www.pe.gatech.edu. Free courses are typically offered two times a year in Atlanta and Savannah, Ga. You may use one free course as an elective to complete an OSHA certificate.
6. I have completed a class not listed in your OSHA certificate program. May I substitute this class?

7. I have completed an OSHA class through another facility outside of Georgia Tech. Will this count toward my certificate?
